Florida Online 4 Hour TLSAE Course / New Drivers DATA Class for Learners Permit
Officially named Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE), this is a 4 hour online driver education class for the individual who has never had a Driver's License. Commonly referred to by it's former name, the Drug, Alcohol, Traffic Awareness (DATA) course, students must be a resident of Florida and at least 14 years old at the time of course registration.
The TLSAE online driving course must be completed within 90 days of Registration. Your Completion Certificate is accepted by any Florida DMV office to obtain your Learners Permit.
Our Online TLSAE class is simple to use. It is designed to accommodate the novice or expert Internet user. You log onto the web site anytime -- 24/7, and Register on-line through your normal internet connection. Or, you may call NTSI Call Center at (888) 312-6874 to register on the telephone and begin immediately.
You may take the online drug and alcohol class at any time of the day, and pause or exit the course at any time. If you exit the course, your total time spent in the class at that point is recorded. When you Login the next time, you will enter at the position where you exited.

Online TLSAE Class Features
Also known as the Drug and Alcohol Course or DATA (Florida Drug, Alcohol, Traffic Awareness Course), the Internet TLSAE class for New Drivers requires a total of 4 hours of course time. At the end of this driver education course, a 40 question multiple choice test must be passed to complete the online class. To pass the exam, you will need to answer 32 of the 40 questions correctly.
The online TLSAE course is divided into multiple sections which concentrates on specific traffic laws and skills for new drivers. Students are encouraged to drive responsibly and defensively by using good judgment behind the wheel. Course topics include:
- How alcohol, tobacco and other drugs affect your body and may influence your quality of life.
- Alcohol Impairment, Traffic Safety and the DUI Laws.
- Traffic Laws and Responsible Driving.
When you complete the TLSAE online driving course and pass the final exam, your information is electronically transmitted to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for you. Your records appear in their computer system within approximately 48 business hours of completion. The records remains on file with the state for one (1) year and allows you to go to any DMV Office to apply for your Learner's Permit during that year. You do not receive a personal copy of your completion certificate in the State of Florida when you complete the course online.
Online Registration and Access
During registration, you will be given a Test Key to gain immediate access to the class. Be sure to write down this Key Number. Once you are registered for the online class, you can return to this online driving course using the Login Button and Test Key Number.
