4 Hour BDI Traffic School / Defensive Driver Class

The 4 hour DDS (Defensive Driving School) class is the most common Florida Traffic School taken by drivers who have received a ticket (speeding and other moving violations).  Officially named the Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) course, it is for individuals who want:

  • Certified In Florida0 Points added to their Florida Drivers Record (An Election);
  • No insurance increases due to this traffic ticket (if no accident).  Any Points on your record will typically cause you rates to increase between 10% to 15% annually for 3 years.;
  • To satisfy a 4 hour DDS court ordered class;
  • Satisfy a DMV order under F.S. 322.0261(4) (Running a Red Light, Passing a Stopped School Bus, Racing on a Highway (Participant or Spectator), or Reckless Driving).
  • Satisfy a DMV order to attend a TCAC class (Traffic Collision Avoidance Course).

Our 4 Hour BDI Traffic Ticket class is offered two ways; as an Internet Class and as a Traditional Classroom course in Tampa, in Orlando or in Tallahassee.  Whichever method you choose, your Completion Certificate is accepted in all 67 Florida Counties.  (If you have a CDL, you can only take this course if it is Court Ordered.  See the CDL Notice below).

  • Your Florida SAFE DRIVER status is maintained if applicable

The 4 hour BDI traffic school class can also be taken voluntarily for Insurance Discount Purposes (F.S. 627.06501).  Taking the class may qualify you for up to a 10% discount on your auto insurance.  Check with your insurance company first to see if a reduction will apply.
